Mawele secondary school is first secondary school at Msinga Top area. The late Muntu Enoch Madondo was instrumental in the construction of the school and he became the first chairperson of the governing school committee. The school became popular in the early 80's due to influx of school kids from urban areas who opted for schools in rural areas due to uprisings in the townships. Mawele secondary produced its first class of matriculants in 1981. Since then it has produced a number of very influential individuals in the community.
